Established in 2010 for the production of hair care products (shampoos, hair conditioners) and hair-dyes for L’Oréal Paris and Garnier brands, the plant initially covered an area of 10 000 m2 in the Vorsino industrial park. In 2015, L’Oréal decided to implement the second phase of the investment project, creating an extension of 13,700 m2. The extension allowed to double the capacity of production, to produce new products and to integrate highly efficient modern technologies aimed at preserving the environment. The extension project started in March 2016, and the first tests of equipment and production of Garnier skincare products were carried out in July 2017.
By implementing the Group’s sustainability program «Sharing beauty with all», the Russian plant was able to reduce its water consumption by 77% (versus 2011)** and to achieve zero waste to landfill. The extension also made possible the integration of highly performing state-of-the-art technology for water treatment, which allowed the modernization of local treatment facilities and the recycling of 70% of water flows, as well as the installation of solar panels that generate 10% of the energy consumed on average per year.
In August 2017, in the context of the Year of Ecology in Russia, L’Oréal became the “Eco-Corporation of the Year”.
By continuing to recruit specialists from the region and to develop partnerships with local suppliers, the extension of the L’Oréal plant contributes to the development of local employment.
