Clichy, 7 September 2018 – L’Oréal announces the appointment of Philippe Cornu as Global Head of Acquisitions and External Business Development for L’Oréal. He succeeds Alain Evrard who is retiring from the company. Philippe Cornu will report to Christian Mulliez, Executive Vice-President & Chief Financial Officer.

Under the leadership of Alain Evrard, since January 2007 the Group’s M&A and licensing teams have accelerated the pace of acquisitions, growing in the span of 12 years the Group’s portfolio from 22 to 34 international brands. These operations include iconic brands such as Pureology, Yves Saint Laurent, Urban Decay, NYX Professional Makeup, CeraVe, as well as important local brands such as Interbeauty in Kenya, Vogue in Colombia, Niely in Brazil and recently Stylenanda in Korea.

L’Oréal’s acquisition strategy focuses on completing the brands’ portfolio to foster the Group’s future organic growth and to capture new beauty desires.

Philippe Cornu joined L’Oréal in 1987. He has been managing several business units in different countries, before being appointed Country Manager in the Balkans and later on in Greece. In 2012, he joined the Finance and Administration department as Head of Risk Management and Compliance.
